A little care goes a long way

Your closed terrarium is designed to create its own miniature ecosystem. With the right environment, it can thrive with very little maintenance.

✅ DO's

🏠 Keep it indoors

Place your terrarium in a comfortable indoor environment, away from extreme temperatures.

☀️ Provide bright, indirect light

Give your terrarium around 3–4 hours of normal, indirect light each day. Avoid direct sunlight, as the glass can magnify the heat and damage the plants.

❄️ Keep it in a comfortable environment

An air-conditioned room is ideal. Avoid placing the terrarium directly under strong AC airflow or near heat sources.

💧 Let the ecosystem regulate itself

A closed terrarium naturally recycles moisture. Condensation on the inside of the glass is normal and helps maintain humidity.

✂️ Trim when necessary

If the plants become too large or overcrowded, you can carefully trim them to maintain the desired appearance.

🚫 Don’t place it in direct sunlight

Too much heat and sunlight can cause the terrarium to overheat and harm the plants.

🚫 Don’t shake or move it unnecessarily

Handle the glass gently to avoid disturbing the plants and layers inside.

🚫 Don’t open the lid frequently

Opening the terrarium releases humidity and disrupts its natural ecosystem. Keep it closed unless maintenance is necessary.

🚫 Don’t add water unless needed

A healthy closed terrarium usually recycles its own moisture. If you notice sufficient condensation, do not add water. Only add a very small amount if the soil appears consistently dry and there is no condensation for an extended period.

🚫 Don’t worry about occasional condensation

Light condensation is completely normal. If the glass becomes heavily fogged for a long period, briefly opening the lid can allow excess moisture to escape.

🌱 Going Away?

Your terrarium can generally be left alone for a while. If you're going to be away for an extended period, avoid adding extra water beforehand. A closed terrarium is designed to retain and recycle moisture.
